What are your hours?

Hours of Operation: Dale Avenue Pediatrics has a convenient location now open five days per week from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Do you offer Prenatal Consultations?

The pending arrival of a new baby can be both an exciting and stressful time for a parent. We encourage you to schedule a prenatal consultation with the physician of your choice. This is a wonderful opportunity to become familiar with our office and staff and to discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Just call our office and our staff will schedule an appointment.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept all the major insurance carriers. To find out if we are on your specific plan, feel free to contact our office.

How often will my child need Well Visits?

Our physicians follow the AAP guidelines for routine child care and immunizations. We recommend your first office visit be within 2 to 3 days of discharge from the hospital. Your child’s weight will be checked approximately 1 week later or as needed. Routine visits then begin at 1 month of age followed by 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, and 30 months. Starting at 3 yrs, your child should be seen at least every year for a routine exam.

How often will my child need immunizations?

Immunizations schedules are set by CDC and approved by the AAP. It is updated every year and posted on the website. To see the current immunization schedule, click here.

How can I reach my doctor during the day?

Upon receiving your phone call, our staff will obtain information about your child. The information, along with the child’s chart will be passed along to your physician who will offer advice. One of our experienced nurses will then call you back to discuss your child’s condition and schedule an appointment if necessary.

How can I get a refill on my child’s prescription?

It is best to request a refill during regular business hours so we can review your child’s medical history. At the time of your call, please let us know which medication you are requesting, as well as the dosage and number of times per day. Please let the staff know which pharmacy you prefer.

What if my child gets sick after regular office hours?

Our doctors’ exchange will have a pediatric trained RN from St. Louis Children’s Hospital triage your call. They are very experienced in phone care and can help you decide what is best to do for your child. They are authorized to refer you to an Emergency Department if necessary. If emergency care is needed, we have physicians on staff at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
